Enquire about camps
Is the camp a day or residential camp?

It is a day camp in Shanghai. Students join activities during the day and return to family or a local guardian each evening; no accommodation is provided. Venue as confirmed by Niukool.

Who is the camp for?

Heritage families visiting Shanghai, expat families living here, Niukool online students, and any student with a suitable local guardian during camp.

Does my child need to know Chinese?

No. All levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced. Classes are based on age and level so each child learns with similar peers.

What ages do you accept?

Ages 8–17, in three groups: 8–12, 12–15 and 15–17. For children near an age boundary, we also consider maturity.

How are students placed by level?

A short placement test and the information you give at sign-up place each child in a beginner, intermediate or advanced class.

What is the difference between half-day and full-day?

Half-day Intensive Chinese is morning lessons with a snack. Full-day Chinese Culture Discovery adds lunch plus afternoon cultural activities and city visits.

Is lunch included?

The full-day programme includes lunch and two snacks; the half-day includes a snack. Menus and allergy needs are confirmed before camp.

Can my child attend without a parent?

Yes, as long as they have a suitable local guardian in Shanghai during camp.

How do you keep children safe? Is insurance included?

The camp is planned around medical insurance, on-site first aid, sign-in/out, outing roll calls and emergency response. Cover, responsibilities, medical routes and procedures are confirmed in writing before camp.

Can you help families visiting Shanghai?

Yes. We offer accommodation tips, airport transfer coordination, day ideas for parents and optional Chinese lessons for parents. Services and fees confirmed by your adviser.

Do you run winter camps too?

Yes. We plan summer and winter camps in Shanghai, so you can choose dates that suit your travel or school holidays. Final dates confirmed in writing.
